This Privacy Policy

In the following I inform you in accordance with Art. 13 GDPR about the manner and background of the processing of your personal data via this website and about the rights to which you are entitled. 

This privacy policy is dated 28/01/2024.

Personal data
Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable natural person.
The following personal data (hereinafter: browser data) is automatically processed each time the website is accessed and each time a file is retrieved: 
  • Browser type and version used
  • Operating system of the user
  • Date and time of retrieval
  • Request details and destination address (protocol version, HTTP user agent string)
  • Websites from which the user's system accesses this website
  • Websites that are accessed by the user's system via our website
  • Name of the retrieved file and amount of data transferred
  • Message as to whether the request was successful (HTTP status code). 

Controller

Purposes

  • I store the browser data in so-called server log files for the purpose of investigating misuse or fraud for a period of up to 7 days. The browser data is not stored together with other personal data of the user. Browser data whose further storage is required for evidence purposes is excluded from deletion until the respective incident has been finally clarified. 
  • When you contact me (e.g. by email or telephone), I process the personal data collected solely for the purpose of processing and responding to your enquiry or contacting you. The data will be deleted after the final response, unless there are legal or other retention obligations.
  • You can register to receive newsletters on this website. For this purpose, your e-mail address and the "whether" of the registration for the newsletter subscription will be processed. To subscribe to the newsletter, you only need to enter your e-mail address. I store this exclusively in order to be able to send you the newsletter. To prevent misuse of your data, we also store the time of your registration and your IP address. For technical and organisational reasons, we also process the time of the last change to your data record, the time you gave your consent and the status of a completed double opt-in. 

Legal basis

  • The legal basis for the processing of browser data is my legitimate interest in the secure and error-free operation of the website; Art. 6 para. 1 subpara. 1 lit. f GDPR.
  • If you contact me regarding legal advice, the legal basis for the processing of your data is Art. 6 para. 1 subpara. 1 lit. b GDPR. The processing is necessary for the performance of a contract to which you are party or in order to take steps at your request prior to entering into a contract. You are initially free to provide me with a contact option (e.g. e-mail or telephone number). If you provide further contact options, this is done voluntarily on the basis of your consent in accordance with Art. 6 para. 1 subpara. 1 lit. a GDPR.
  • Insofar as the correspondence is not necessary for the fulfilment of a contract with me or for the implementation of pre-contractual measures, the legal basis for the processing is Art. 6 para. 1 subpara. 1 lit. f GDPR. In this respect, my legitimate interest is to communicate with the sender and to manage and document the communication.
  • The legal basis for the processing of your e-mail address in the context of a newsletter subscription is Art. 6 para. 1 subpara. 1 lit. a GDPR. The legal basis for the processing of your e-mail address in the context of a newsletter subscription is Art. 6 para. 1 subpara. 1 lit. a GDPR. Subscription to the newsletter mailing takes place as part of a so-called "double opt-in procedure". After entering your e-mail address, I will send you a confirmation e-mail containing a confirmation link to the e-mail address you provided. If you do not confirm your registration within 48 hours, it will be automatically cancelled. If you click on the link in the confirmation e-mail, I will store your e-mail address until you unsubscribe from the newsletter. The storage of your double opt-in serves to fulfil my accountability obligations under data protection law. The legal basis in this respect is Art. 6 para. 1 subpara. 1 lit. f GDPR. dient dazu, meine datenschutzrechtlichen Rechenschaftspflichten zu erfüllen. Your rights as a data subject

You have the following rights under the GDPR with regard to the personal data concerning you:

  • Recht auf Widerspruch gegen die Verarbeitung. Wenn ich Ihre personenbezogenen Daten auf der Grundlage meines berechtigten Interessen verarbeite (Art. 6 Abs. 1 UAbs. 1 lit. f DSGVO), können Sie der Verarbeitung widersprechen, indem Sie sich mit mir in Verbindung setzen (z. B. per E‑Mail, Kontaktdaten oben). Die Fälle, in denen ich die Verarbeitung auf mein berechtigtes Interesse stütze, können Sie dieser Datenschutzerklärung entnehmen.
    Wenn Sie Ihr Widerspruchsrecht ausüben, bitte ich Sie, mir die Gründe darzulegen, weshalb ich Ihre personenbezogenen Daten nicht wie von mir beschrieben verarbeiten soll. Im Falle Ihres begründeten Widerspruchs stelle ich entweder die Datenverarbeitung ein bzw. passen diese an oder aber zeige Ihnen meine zwingenden schutzwürdigen Gründe auf, aufgrund derer ich die Verarbeitung fortführe.
    Selbstverständlich können Sie der Verarbeitung Ihrer personenbezogenen Daten zu Marketingzwecken jederzeit widersprechen, ohne dass hierfür Gründe vorliegen müssen, indem Sie sich sich mit mir in Verbindung setzen (z. B. per E‑Mail, Kontaktdaten oben). Ihnen entstehen dadurch keine Kosten.
  • Right to withdraw consent you have given: You can withdraw your consent (Art. 6 para. 1 subpara. 1 lit. a GDPR) at any time with effect for the future. The withdrawal of consent does not affect the lawfulness of processing based on consent before its withdrawal. You can revoke your consent informally by contacting me (e.g. by e-mail, contact details above). 
  • Right to data portability, 
  • Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority (see below),
  • Right to information,
  • Right to rectification,
  • Right to erasure,
  • Right to restriction of processing.

Forwarding

The hosting of the website and thus also the processing of the above personal data is carried out by the external host provider Strato AG, Otto-Ostrowski-Straße 7, 10249 Berlin, Germany. 

Your data will not be passed on to third parties without your express consent.

Supervisory authority

The competent supervisory authority under data protection law is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of North Rhine-Westphalia, Kavalleriestr. 2-4, 40213 Düsseldorf, phone: 0211/38424-0, fax: 0211/38424-999, e-mail: poststelle@ldi.nrw.de.

Third country transfer

Your data will not be transferred outside the EU without your express consent. 

A simple link to my LinkedIn profile is embedded on this website (LinkedIn button). By clicking on the button, you will be redirected to my LinkedIn profile, i.e. a connection to the LinkedIn server will be established. This may result in data being transferred to the USA. The LinkedIn platform is operated by LinkedIn Corporation, 1000 W Maude Ave Sunnyvale, CA 94085, is responsible for the processing. LinkedIn's privacy policy applies in this regard. LinkedIn Corporation has joined the EU-US Data Privacy Framework.
